rules and regulations
Fishing leases have been negotiated with local ranchers who rely on the land for their livelihood and quality of life. The success of this program depends on all anglers respecting this unique opportunity. The following practices must therefore be observed to maintain our property leases, the enjoyment of other anglers and the quality of fishing:
- Anglers must obtain a day permit and sign a hold harmless agreement upon arrival.
- All anglers must have a valid Colorado fishing license.
- No dogs or other pets are permitted on any property.
- Smoking is not permitted on any property.
- No more than two anglers per day are allowed on Tarryall L&C Ranch, Ute Creek Ranch and Fourmile Creek Ranch. Up to three anglers are allowed on Santa Maria Ranch, Upper Allen Creek Ranch and Lower Allen Creek Ranch if all three are in the same group. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Fishing is permitted by fly rod and artificial flies only. All fish must be returned immediately to the water unharmed.
- Anglers must park in designated parking areas on each property.
- No fires, firearms or fireworks are permitted on any property.
- Camping is not permitted on any property.
- The disposal of toilet paper, cans, bottles, paper, packaging, fishing leader, diapers, and all other garbage is prohibited.
- Entry on any other private property shall be considered trespassing.
- Avoid disturbing livestock and wildlife while fishing, walking or driving.
- There are no sanitation facilities on these properties, except for an outhouse at Santa Maria Ranch. Please plan accordingly on the day of your arrival. Do not eliminate within 50 feet of the stream. Human feces and toilet paper should be buried or packed out.
- Non-fishing friends and family members may accompany anglers on a property ONLY if they pay the stated daily fee. In this case the maximum number of people (anglers and non-anglers) shall not exceed the stated number of anglers otherwise permitted on each property.
- Anglers found to be in violation of these regulations will be asked to leave immediately and/or may be prosecuted if their actions are in violation of any law.
